The boat that was carrying him, his wife and their three children to Italy capsized only half an hour after they left the Libyan shore and the oldest son drowned.<br />

Referring to this story he told to UNICEF: "You made me open a door that I thought I would never open again".<br />
He doesn't want to see the sea anymore. "It was very difficult", he said, "more difficult than the war itself".<br />

"I was floating on the water but the water moved me<br />
Every time I saw something in the water, I tried to hold on to it.<br />
I thought, maybe it will pull me out of the water.<br />
But they were small spheres ... so they were heads<br />
I clung to them, then I realised that they were corpses, and I moved away, scared.<br />
We went on like this until morning, until dawn".<br />

they arrested us and brought us into the Zawia prison.<br />
No food. No water. They beat us every day.<br />
No doctor, no medicine.” In the future Kudujaz would like to become a doctor.<br />

  • Libya, Tripoli:The Director of the Abu Salim Detention Center Ramadan Alries complains that the conditions in which they are forced to hold the migrants are really difficult.<br />
"We do not have enough money or space” he says, “two months ago the detention center was closed for a few weeks, because we did not have any money to buy food for the migrants.<br />
The government does not want to pay the suppliers of food,  and therefore they will not give it to us. <br />
Sometimes we manage with private donations from Libyan charitable associations.  But these are few and also short of money.<br />
If European countries do not help us, the situation will get worse and become more complex." Alessio Romenzi

Wisdom 8yo is alone because his parents have died.  They drowned at sea.<br />
During the journey he did not have a  life jacket and the boat capsized. <br />
"We wanted to go to Italy, we were on a boat”, Wisdom says.   “After a while the boat began to take in water and soon after it sank.<br />
There was a boy who survived, and I held onto him for many hours. <br />
He saved me. But my father and mother both died. <br />
I did not see them again.”<br />
Since then, Wisdom is alone.<br />

They think I'm dead".<br />
He was whispering more than talking. Sad and depressed like someone who does not know if will be able to get out of that "cage".<br />
He added than "During the journey in the desert I prayed God not to die. <br />
